Submit a Film

The following deadlines are the dates by which we must receive a completed application for your project via FilmFreeway, including a digital upload or link.

YOU NEED TO:


  1. FILL OUT THE ONLINE FILMFREEWAY FORM

  2. UPLOAD YOUR FILM ONLINE (FOR SHORT FILMS)

  3. FOR FEATURE FILMS: SEND YOUR FILM TO THE ADDRESS INDICATED AT THE BOTTOM OF OUR WEBSITE.

  4. IF YOUR FILM IS SELECTED, YOU MUST COMPLY WITH THE CINESOMNIA FESTIVAL'S RULES AND REGULATIONS

IMPORTANT


THE SHORT FILM COMPETITION – which is a different section from the Feature Film Competition – is only online short films competition. You can submit films to the Cinesomnia Official Streaming Platform directly by via WeTransfer website.

THE CINESOMNIA SLAVIC CORNER: As part of the Slavic Corner, film vendors and producers can screen their films for a fee. For more information, visit the Slavic Corner page site.

2022 PRESELECTION CONDITIONS

CONDITIONS

Only feature films that meet the following conditions may be chosen for invitation to the Official Selection:

  • Films that have been produced during the twelve months preceding the Cinesomnia Film Festival

  • Films that have not been presented at any motion picture event in the United States. If the film has been selected for an festival (competitive or not) it becomes ineligible for the Cinesomnia Film Festival.

  • Films that have not been shown on the Internet or released on DVD

  • Short film invited to be in competition must be released online via Cinesomnia streaming platform.

In order to be selected as a feature film, your film must be more than 60 minutes l

DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION AND FOR RECEPTION

The registration deadline is August 4th, 2022. (By this date, the registration form below must have been filled out and validated).

One of the accepted formats submitted for preselection must be received by the Festival no later than August 18th, 2022.

MATERIAL

Whatever equipment used for shooting the film (mini DV, super 8, 35mm...), only the following will be accepted for the preselection:

  • HDCAM / HDCAM-SR

  • DCP (Digital Cinema Package): Server JPEG 2000 (model DOREMI DCP 2K4). Server reads only JPEG 2000 files. Available connections: CRU bay, e-Sata, USB. Once your submission is complete, contact the Film Department for the server certificate and how to send your KDM.

  • Beta SP (Pal, NTSC) or Digital Beta (Pal, NTSC)

  • Blu-ray Disc + 1 standard DVD (if you send a Blu-ray you must also send us a standard DVD of the film).

  • DVD (Standard)

Please send your film once only and in one format only.

SUBTITLING

The Cinesomnia Film Festival will accept films:

  • WITHOUT subtitles if the original language is English.

  • WITH English subtitles for all other original languages.

SHIPPING

HDCAM / DCP / BETA / DVD / Blu-ray: they must be sent by mail directly to the Film Festival at the Festival office (please find the address at the end of the entry form). If are sent through an express parcel service your package should read. For any materials sent by mail or online, payment for delivery must have been made by sender in full, including any taxes. It is also possible to make delivery in person. (Please check our office hours in advance.)

APPLICATION AND SCREENING FEE FOR THE PRESELECTION

  • The application and screening fee must be paid at the time of online registration (using the FilmFreeway form).

  • The application and screening costs are borne by the producer or the sender.

  • We don't cover filmmakers' travel expenses.

  • We don't cover shipping expenses for screening copies and other materials.

  • We don't provide screening fees.

MEANS OF PAYMENT

  • Only payment by credit cards such as Visa, Mastercard, etc., is accepted.

  • Your credit card will be debited on a secure website when filling in the entry form.

  • Payment validates the completion of registration.

  • All payments must be made in the US dollars. .

RETURN

  • The return transport costs are borne by the producer.

IF YOUR FILM IS SELECTED.

You will be contacted before the official press conference.

You must supply us either with a DCP (Digital Cinema Package), a JPEG 2000 file or a 35mm print.

Our Film Office will send you all the necessary information on time, only if your film is selected.
